BeTriton, a Latvian startup, has raised €80,000 from 150 investors through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. With the funding, The company intends to build a rental fleet for businesses and people at a price of €100 per day, as well as offer units to other rental companies.

About BeTriton

  • BeTriton is a revolutionary electric recreational vehicle that combines a motor boat, tricycle, and camper, providing a seamless outdoor travel experience with its continuous and immersive design.
  • BeTriton traces its beginnings to Aigars Lauzis' 30,000-kilometre bicycle ride from London to Tokyo. During the journey, Lauzis came up with the idea for a one-of-a-kind amphibious camper. After finishing his travels and returning to Latvia, he founded ZELTINI Studio in 2018 to bring his vision to life.
  • The company has since progressed from initial prototypes to market-ready models. BeTriton’s product development has been marked by the introduction of various iterations, including the BeTriton 1.0 and the BeTriton eTrailer, which features a solar panel. The company has achieved several milestones, including the opening of rental locations and securing commercial sales, supported by grants and investments.

“We offer a product that doesn’t require any licences, doesn’t burn anything, and doesn’t require marina fees to be paid. No additional vehicles are needed to move this around, and no towing is needed either. It’s a more sustainable way to travel both over land and water,” Aigars Lauzis, BeTriton CEO, commented.

Investment details

  • The funding was conducted with the aid of Crowdcube, the biggest European crowdfunding platform, where users can invest in businesses in return for stock.
  • Throughout the years, over 88,500 Crowdcube investors have received more than £134 million in investment returns from purpose-led enterprises through acquisitions by big brands such as Europcar and EDF. The organization arranges and manages payouts for exits, secondary offerings, and dividends.

The fresh funds will be used to boost production for three BeTriton models: BeTriton Full, BeTriton Trailer, and BeTriton eTrailer, each offering premium camping experiences and eco-friendly solar-powered options.
