  • Persimmon was founded in January 2022 by industry veterans Mark Hadfield and Matthew Bartlett. The company is based in San Francisco but is actively expanding into all major US cities.
  • Persimmon is a telemedicine company, a field that connects doctors and patients online, which also focuses on aesthetic medicine. Persimmon customers can choose a doctor and receive a consultation, make an appointment for a procedure, contact the doctor through a convenient application, and receive all the necessary cosmetic procedures without leaving home.
  • In addition, the company is actively developing its network of cosmetic procedure providers. It provides a platform for doctors to find customers, create their own databases, and use the company's marketing channels.
  • To date, Persimmon has more than 20,000 paid users of the service, mostly in the US. The company's network consists of more than 800 active medical professionals, with approximately 150 new professionals joining each month. According to Toloka.vc, the company's revenue has increased six-fold by 2023. Persimmon has previously attracted investment from IPD Capital and the Draper Association.

Co-founder of the Toloka.vc on Persimmon

One of the general partners and founders of Toloka.vc, Ihor Shoifot, said that Persimmon has shown an impressive increase in revenue - from $750,000 in 2022 to $4.8 million in 2023. The company is tapping into the potential of the American market for Botox and medical aesthetic services, which is estimated to be worth $5 billion, and where more and more people prefer to have procedures done at home.

"According to our data, this $3.25 billion market does not currently have a major at-home service provider," Choifot commented.

The Ukrainian syndicate Toloka.vc was launched in 2023 by Oleksandr Kolba (Promodo), Ihor Shoifot (TMT Investments), and Taras Kyrychenko ("Nova Poshta"). Their first investment was around $1 million in the American medical service Forta.
