Ukrainian drone startup Frontline has received a $48,450 (UAH 2 million) grant from the Defense Tech development support cluster of Ukraine, BRAVE1. The financing will allow the company  to develop its drone-bomber with reconnaissance capabilities, Linza, the cluster announced to AIN.

How does Linza drone work?

  • The Linza multi-tasking bomber is equipped with digital video communication, a gyro-stabilised camera (day and night camera), and an electronic warfare (EW) resistant control channel. The product is already being used at the frontline by advanced units.

"We see a great demand from the military not only for FPV copters, but also for more technologically advanced tactical drones, such as bombers and reconnaissance drones. It is important for us that all participants in the process are involved as much as possible: manufacturers, the military, and the state," Yevhen Tretyak, CEO of the company, comments.

  • The Ukrainian military personnel acknowledges the drone’s survivability under the influence of electronic warfare, as well as the ability to carry a much larger target load compared to civilian copters.

"The most important thing is that the product works out of the box and does not require any additional adjustments or "tweaks" by pilots on the spot," says one of the military pilots working in the Kharkiv sector.

  • The drone-bombers are supplied as a complete set, which includes a ground station, a ground antenna, a control panel, and a set of batteries.

Frontline team plans to use the grant funds to create new boards and deliver them to the brigades that have already placed pre-orders.
