Digital Ocean Ventures Starter completes its second closing, reaching €10,6M

Polish venture capital fund Digital Ocean Ventures Starter has completed the second closing with a capitalization increased to around €10,6 million (PLN 45 million). The fund was backed by the anchor investor PFR Ventures and a group of private investors including WP2 Investments. Adam Bartkiewicz, one of the fund’s partners, announced the news on his Linkedin.

About Digital Ocean Ventures

Digital Ocean Ventures is a venture capital firm founded by Adam Bartkiewicz, Magda Olczak-Nowicka, Piotr Widacki and Marcin Musiał in 2021. The firm backs early-stage startups in fintech and digital transformation, especially those harnessing the power of AI.
The fund's focus is on investments in Polish companies with B2B and B2B2C models, however, it is open to occasional investments in foreign companies, which have a focus on the CEE area.

The firm’s portfolio includes P100, BidFinance, Suplement.io, and Wycieczkomat.

Details about the deal

With PFR Ventures as the anchor investor, alongside a group of private investors including WP2 Investments, the fund will invest up to €700,000 (3 million PLN) in pre-seed and seed-stage startups. Follow-on investments can reach up to €1 million (5 million PLN), which is the maximum total investment per startup.

PFR Ventures is a fund-of-funds management company that invests in Venture Capital and Private Equity funds together with private investors, business angels and corporations. PFR Ventures makes investments using EU funds (POIG, POIR and FENG programs) and the Polish Development Fund.
WP2 Investments investments in early-stage companies with a focus on fintech, biotechnology, green energy, E-commerce and digitalization/automation. The fund invests from pre-seed to Series A in startups with tested products or initial successes.
