Swiss VISENSE, a provider of AI-driven video analytics and low-code technology, has merged with Octotronic, an expert in smart factory data architectures and digitization projects, to form Octotronic AG and launch the OctoCore platform. Look AI Ventures, an investor in VISENSE, shared the news with AIN.

  • OctoCore is a unified DataOps platform based on a system called Unified Namespace (UNS), designed to make manufacturing's digital transformation easier and more affordable.

  • The platform comes with ready-to-use connectors for common industrial machines, protocols like OPC UA and MQTT, and business systems like ERP, MES, and SCADA. This helps data move smoothly across different levels of the automation process.

  • OctoCore supports advanced AI and analytics while keeping data accurate and well-managed, which is essential for efficient operations and smart decision-making. It also breaks down data barriers, connects IT and operational technology, and creates a unified system that boosts teamwork and supports scalable, cost-effective digital transformation.

“This collaborative product is a core AI solutions enabler on the shop floor, supporting scalable digital transformation in line with the latest Industry 5.0 trends. Moreover, the two companies' combined list of clients includes many of the main industry players in the manufacturing landscape,” says Angelo Burgarello, Partner at Look AI Ventures, a Czech VC, which backed VISENSE's pre-seed round.

This strategic merger is driven by a shared vision to address the manufacturing industry's toughest challenges and scale digital transformation initiatives, particularly in implementing AI use cases on the shop floor.

In November 2024, AIN reported on Look AI Ventures' investment in Secjur aimed at accelerating AI-driven compliance technology development.
