Swiss startup Embotech has received approximately $26 million in funding from a number of top-tier investors, including the Polish fund RKKVC. The round will help the startup to expand autonomous driving solutions for logistics in Europe and beyond. The startup shared the details via a press release.

  • Embotech is a Swiss company specializing in autonomous driving solutions for industrial logistics, enhancing safety, productivity, and energy efficiency in applications such as Automated Vehicle Marshalling (AVM) and Autonomous Terminal Tractors (ATT).

  • Founded in 2013, the company is a spin-off of the Automatic Control Laboratory from ETH Zurich.

  • So far, the company has signed a multi-year contract with BMW to install its solution in six passenger car factories worldwide by the end of 2025.

Investment details 

Emerald Technology Ventures and Yttrium led the funding round, with additional funds from BMW i Ventures, Nabtesco Technology Ventures, Sustainable Forward Capital Fund, RKKVC, and several existing investors.

  • Yttrium, a leading technology growth investor, focuses on DACH and European technology companies with over $800 million in assets under management. 

  • RKKVC is a Warsaw-based early-stage venture capital fund that invests in innovative startups across Europe and the United States, focusing primarily on software companies, including deep tech and B2B SaaS.

Embotech plans to utilize the funding to enhance automated solutions, tackle the global driver shortage, decrease Total Cost of Ownership and CO2 emissions, and envision the future of modern logistics.

Some of RKKVC’s notable investments include the Swiss drone startup Wingtra AG and the composite materials company Bcomp.
