Photoneo from Photoneo Brightpick Group, a leader in 3D vision and AI robotics, has been acquired by Zebra Technologies, an innovator at the front line of business with solutions and partners that deliver a performance edge. Photoneo Brightpick Group to be renamed Brightpick and remain independent. The company shared the details with AIN.

About Brightpick

  • Brightpick is a US-based startup founded by Slovak entrepreneurs Tomas Kovacovsky, Michal Maly, and Jan Zizka in 2021 as a spin-off of Photoneo, a leader in 3D robotic vision sensors and intelligence software. 

  • The solution offers AI robots for warehouses to easily automate every step of their order fulfillment. 

  • The company’s innovative robots enable warehouses of any size to fully automate order picking, consolidation, dispatch and stock replenishment.

Acquisition details

Following the acquisition, the Photoneo Brightpick Group will be renamed to simply Brightpick and continue operating as a separate entity focused on developing and deploying AI robots to automate warehouse operations. 

  • The buyer Zebra Technologies provides solutions for workflow optimization, including robotics, machine vision, automation, and mobile computing. 

  • Zebra helps organizations improve efficiency and visibility across operations. Its ecosystem includes 10,000 partners worldwide, serving more than 80% of the Fortune 500 companies.

The majority of the proceeds from the sale will be dedicated to accelerating Brightpick’s deployment of its AI robots across the US and Europe.
