Meta will use Facebook and Instagram user data to provide personalized recommendations
Meta's AI will use users' activity on Facebook and Instagram to make personalized recommendations. The AI will also get a "memory" feature on some social networks, according to the company's blog.
Not long ago, Meta added an artificial intelligence feature to its social networks that you could chat with in a separate chat. Now, Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp will also get a "memory" feature, similar to the one in OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Meta AI will "remember" information about you: for example, that you don't eat meat, so it can recommend appropriate dishes next time. It also says that information about you can be deleted at any time.

Another new feature is that Meta AI will track your activity on Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram to provide personalized recommendations. Here's an example from the company:
"Let’s say you’re looking for something fun to do with your family this weekend and you ask Meta AI to suggest something. Based on the home location you’ve listed as part of your Facebook profile, recent views of reels featuring live performances by various country artists and its memory that you have a partner and two young kids, Meta AI might suggest tickets for that weekend’s country music show at your local arena and reservations at a local brunch spot," the statement reads.
These features will launch in the U.S. and Canada first, and it's not clear when (or if) they'll roll out to other countries. As a reminder, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced a $60-65 billion investment in the company's artificial intelligence.
