Nova Post closes its last office in Pokrovsk as russian soldiers advance towards the city

There is not a single Nova Poshta post office left in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, as the company closed its last post office on February 18.

The co-owner of the company, Volodymyr Popereshnyuk, announced this in a post on Facebook.

The now-closed office employed three people.

"They worked in a town where there are no supermarkets, courts, schools, water, gas, or electricity, but there are still a few small grocery stores and Nova Post. Parcels were delivered and received here, and people could keep warm, connect to the Internet, charge their phones, and withdraw cash," says Popereshniuk.

In early February, the office was still receiving and distributing 80-90 packages a day, including food, medicine, generators, and items from those leaving the city, Popereshniuk said in his post.

In 2022 there were 10 post offices in Pokrovsk. In December 2024 there were only 2 with 13 employees. In January, the office was closed, its employees were evacuated to safer cities and have already been hired for other jobs in the company, says the co-owner.
