Romanian-founded company Bible Chat raises €13.41M Series A to enhance spiritual experience with AI

Romanian-founded company Bible Chat has raised €13.41 million in a Series A funding led by Silicon Valley’s True Ventures. The round also saw participation from Play Ventures, Early Game Ventures, Underline Ventures, and Silicon Gardens, the Recursive reports.

  • Founded in 2019 by Romanians Laurentiu Balasa and Marius Iordache, Bible Chat offers a free application designed to enhance users’ engagement with religious texts and support users' spiritual journey with the use of artificial intelligence.

  • It offers interactive Bible study tools, including features like a comprehensive concordance, commentary, and lexicon, allowing users to delve deeper into biblical texts. The app also includes a ‘Prayer Wall’, fostering a community where users can request prayers, share gratitude, and connect with fellow believers.

The investment round led by True Ventures, with participation from Play Ventures, Early Game Ventures, Underline Ventures, and Silicon Gardens.

True Ventures is a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm that invests in early stage technology startups. With more than $3.8 billion under management, True provides seed and Series A financing to entrepreneurs in some of today's fastest growing markets.

The company will use fresh funding for product development, market expansion, and strengthening the global footprint of the platform.
