Grammarly, a company with Ukrainian roots, has opened an office in Warsaw. It took about eight months to select the location and prepare for the opening of the new hub, the company's press service told AIN.
Previously, Grammarly already had employees in Poland and also maintained a temporary workspace in Krakow since 2022. As explained, the capital city was chosen for a number of reasons: a pool of talent, room for growth, and logistical convenience, as the company's employees often travel between hubs in North America and Europe.
At the time the Warsaw hub opened, Grammarly already had about 100 team members in Poland working in a hybrid format (a combination of remote work and team meetings in the hub).
"In our hubs, we regularly hold in-person weeks for team collaboration, brainstorming, planning and networking," the company said in a statement.
The new office was opened in the business district in the Warsaw Financial Center building, next to the city's main train station. Anatoliy Visikirsky, director of people operations and technology, was named site leader.
In Poland, most of the employyes are concentrated in Customer Support, Customer Success, Sales and Operational roles (e.g. People, Workplace Experience, etc.). The following positions are currently open:
- Accounts Payable Manager.
- Social Media Customer Care Specialist.
- Technical Support Specialist.
- Customer Success Manager, Grammarly for Education.
In 2022, Grammarly opened a hub in Berlin with 100 employees and the team continues to grow. The functions that are concentrated in Germany are mainly engineering, product and design.
The company now has 7 hubs across Europe and North America: Kyiv, Warsaw, Berlin, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Vancouver. They say they have no plans to open new locations.
"Our engineering teams are mainly concentrated in North America and Europe (Ukraine and Germany). In Ukraine, we are currently actively looking for front-end engineers and have recently announced a summer internship for students of software engineering and computational linguistics," the press service said.
Grammarly is a company with Ukrainian roots that has developed a platform for improving written English. It was founded in 2009 by Ukrainians Oleksiy Shevchenko, Maksym Lytvyn, and Dmytro Lider. Last August, Grammarly launched a new tool called Authorship.
