Split Fiction sells one million copies in two days — a record for Hazelight Studios

Hazelight Studios, known for the hits It Takes Two and A Way Out, have announced the overwhelming success of their new game Split Fiction. In its first 48 hours of official release, the game has sold over 1 million copies worldwide.

"The love you all show for our game is overwhelming! Everyone here at Hazelight are beyond happy - and we can’t stop enjoying your amazing reactions! " the developers wrote on the Bluesky social network.

The game, which was released on March 6, is experiencing record sales, especially compared to the studio's previous bestseller It Takes Two, which took almost a month to reach that mark.

Split Fiction has received high marks from both critics and gamers. On Steam, the game has received "overwhelmingly positive" reviews and a 98% rating based on more than 15,500 reviews.

In addition, the peak number of concurrent players on Steam was over 259,000, significantly higher than It Takes Two's 71,000.

Previously, the new game from Japanese studio Capcom, Monster Hunter Wilds, broke several records of concurrent players on Steam at an insane pace right after its release.
