The only service in Apple's portfolio that remains unprofitable is Apple TV+. Every year, the company loses more than $1 billion on its streaming service, The Information writes.
The company launched Apple TV+ in 2019 and spent about $5 billion on content every year, but in 2024, this amount was reduced to $4.5 billion.
Apple does not disclose the official number of users of the service, but it is estimated to have about 45 million subscribers.
Apple TV+ is known for its series Breaking Bad, The Morning Show and Ted Lasso, which recently received official confirmation of its fourth season. Despite more than 2,500 nominations and wins at various awards shows, the service still lags behind competitors Netflix and Disney+ in terms of viewership.
Apple seems to have other problems, too. According to TechCrunch, the company has been sued in federal court for allegedly misrepresenting Apple Intelligence features.
The lawsuit seeks compensation for anyone who bought an iPhone or other device capable of supporting Apple Intelligence. The plaintiffs claim that the owners of the devices did not receive the company's artificial intelligence features that they were promised.
