The Witcher 4 will not be released in 2026 — CD Projekt rumours

Despite expectations that The Witcher 4 could be released as early as 2026, it seems that the release won't be coming for a much longer period - not earlier than 2027. This was reported by PC Gamer, which listened to CD Projekt's fiscal year 2024 earnings presentation.

During the event a phrase was said: "Even though we do not plan to release The Witcher 4 by the end of 2026, we are still driven by this financial goal."

"We are not going to announce the precise launch date for the game yet," CD Projekt chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz said in response to the inquiry. "All we could share now to give more visibility to investors is that the game will not be launched within the time frame of the first target for the incentive program, which ends December 31, 2026."

So 2026 is obviously off the table, but 2027 is still a possibility. Last November, the trilogy game director Sebastian Kalemba announced that the team had entered the active development phase of the next Witcher game, codenamed Polaris.
