Oppenheimer Acceleration invests in four Ukrainian defense startups — each deal may reach up to €125k

US-Ukrainian venture capital fund Oppenheimer Acceleration has informed AIN about its investments in two Ukrainian defense startups, Anvarix Technologies and Aetos Space Labs, to enhance the potential of Ukrainian drones.

The amount of the deals was not disclosed, but the fund commented that the fund's investment package could reach up to $125,000. Of this amount, $25,000 is provided at the stage of preparation for the acceleration program, and the rest - up to $100,000 - is provided during the startup's participation in the program, depending on progress, track record and direction of development.

Previously, Scroll Media reported that Oppenheimer Acceleration had also invested in BabAI and RightSpot.AI, Ukrainian startups developing technologies to improve the protection and navigation of combat and reconnaissance UAVs.

What is known about the startups

  • Anvarix Limited is developing AI-based UAV targeting systems and robust video communication protocols designed to operate in electronic warfare (EW) environments. The startup's solutions have already been tested by the military.
  • Aetos Space Labs is developing a new generation drone interceptor equipped with an AI-based drone identification system. This solution aims to strengthen short-range air defense by providing autonomous detection and response to air threats.
  • BabAI is developing an AI-based active defense system for reconnaissance drones against FPV attacks. The technology has passed combat tests and is already integrated with two drone manufacturers and a laser turret system.
  • RightSpot.AI is a pioneer of GPS-free navigation systems for drones, missiles and autonomous vehicles. Its multimodal navigation platform provides reliable positioning in environments where GPS and electronic radar are unavailable.

Oppenheimer Acceleration was launched in November 2024 in San Francisco. The fund was launched by Network.VC.
