The beginning of 2025 did not impress with a lot of high-profile premieres, although we did see a new season of White Lotus and the long-awaited return of Severance, which, by the way, has already been renewed for a third season.
April will apparently compensate for this quiet start of the year by preparing a lot of interesting releases. This month, we will see new seasons of The Last of Us, Andor, and Black Mirror, as well as the final episodes of the popular series The Handmaid's Tale and You.

The Last of Us

Where to watch: Max
In April, we will return to the world where cordyceps turns people into zombie-like creatures. The story of the second season takes place five years after the events of the first season, which was released in 2023 and earned the lead actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.
Since the series is based on The Last of Us video game franchise by Naughty Dog, the second season will be partially based on the story of the second part of the game. And, most likely, fans of the series can count on a third season. Variety writes that the creators will start working on it soon.

Government Cheese
When: April 16
Where to watch: Apple TV+
This is a surreal family comedy set in 1969 in the San Fernando Valley. It tells the story of the Chambers family - eccentric dreamers who strive to achieve great, though almost unrealistic goals, despite the realities of the world.
When Hampton Chambers is released from prison, his long-awaited family reunion does not go as planned. In his absence, his wife Astoria and sons Einstein and Harrison have created an unconventional but strong family system. Hampton's return becomes a real test for them and creates chaos in their lives.
Why the name? This is a term that originated in the United States after low-income people were given processed cheese as a form of assistance. Since then, any unwanted “handout” from the state has been called “Government cheese”.
