Ukrainian manufacturers present a drone interceptor for Shahed 136. It has already destroyed over 20 targets in 2 months
The Ukrainian defense industry has presented the latest drone used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to intercept the russian-Iranian Shahed 136 kamikaze drones. Over the past two months, the UAV has already destroyed more than 20 enemy drones of this type, Militarnyi reports.
The presentation of the drone took place during the visit of Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever to Kyiv. The footage of the drone was released in a video by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the developers, the drone can also be used to destroy smaller targets, including enemy reconnaissance drones. Its maximum speed is up to 200 km/h, and the flight altitude is up to 5 km. Tactical and technical characteristics remain classified.
The developers emphasize that this drone is currently the most successful interceptor of Shahed 136 in the Ukrainian arsenal. Its use can significantly reduce the need for expensive anti-aircraft missiles to combat low-speed targets.
The presentation of the latest Ukrainian developments is also aimed at deepening cooperation with the Belgian defense industry. The parties are already taking steps to jointly produce weapons and further develop technologies.
AIN reminds that the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that they have successfully used the latest tool to intercept and destroy russian Shaheds, but the military did not disclose the name of the product.
