xAI implements memory feature in Grok AI chatbot
Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI has announced the launch of a new Memory feature for its Grok chatbot, which allows it to remember details of previous conversations with its users. The announcement was made on Grok's official account on the X platform.
With this feature, Grok will be able to generate personalized responses, including more accurate recommendations, based on previous interactions with users. The more the bot "knows" about the user's preferences, the more accurate its answers will be.
The feature is currently available in beta on Grok.com and in Grok's official iOS and Android apps. However, it is not available for EU and UK users. Data storage can be disabled in the settings, and individual "memories" can be manually deleted through the chat interface. xAI adds that they are working on implementing the memory feature in Grok directly on the X platform.
A similar memory feature was recently announced in OpenAI's ChatGPT, which allows for more personalized responses based on preferences and interests. Google Gemini also has a memory feature - it can "remember" details about your life and preferences.
As a reminder, OpenAI is working on its own social media platform, which will be similar to X.
