Helsinki-based Disior, a Medtech company, has raised $2 million from Maki.vc – an early-stage venture capital firm partnering with deep tech & brand-driven companies and Tesi – venture capital and private equity company that accelerates companies’ success stories by investing in them, both directly and via funds.

Disior-1

Founded in 2016 by Anna-Maria Henell, Sakari Soini, Risto Kontio, and Goncalo Barreto, Disior specializes in converting medical images into patient-specific mathematical models. The company has developed a cloud 3D analytics software for doctors that converts medical scans and X-rays into 3D-images. This software automatically analyzes medical images and quickly provides objective data for the evaluation of treatment results.

The company wants to use the raised funds for further development of the existing products and for bringing 3D vision to medical doctors worldwide. Also, the investment will support the commercialization of its new CE-marked product Bonelogic Ortho Foot and Ankle.

Anna-Maria Henell, CEO of Disior, said:

“We would like to provide doctors with the best possible software. Today, it means getting better data much faster. In the future, this type of information – based not on an image, but on a model – will provide doctors with the tools for better diagnostics, as well as for developing criteria for the best treatment methods.”
