Romanian proptech startup Nooka Space has raised €2 million in a fresh investment round aimed at foreign expansion, specifically to Portugal and Italy, The Recursive reports. The company did not disclose the names of new investors.

  • Nooka Space is a tech-enabled network of smart Proximity Office Pods with a mission to redefine productivity on the go. In simple terms, the company offers access to small and accessible office spaces, fully equipped with Wi-Fi, charging slots, and soundproofing, that can easily boost productivity and reduce commute time.
  • The company is working on making such workspaces autonomous, enabling hotels, airports, train stations, coffee shops, and gas stations to rent the spaces whenever they want. Currently, Nooka Space operates in ten nations including Romania, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, and Ireland.
  • The company was founded in 2020 by Irina Leca and Sandu Babasan. It is based in Cluj, Romania.

  • Apart from acquiring funding, Nooka Space also gets a new CEO Irina Leca, who shared about the products in development, Nooka Cube and Nooka Air One, which are adaptable for both indoor and outdoor environments.

Thanks to the fresh funds, the company bets on the versatility of its business model to help it conquer Portugal and Italy. Nooka is also actively looking for looking at licensing its IoT system, which will allow easy adaptation to any location.
