Ukrainian venture capital fund Roosh Ventures has joined the funding round for French startup Gladia, which develops innovative solutions for audio data recognition and analysis. In total, the project raised €16 million in the Series A round, dev.ua reports. Roosh does not disclose its share, but usually invests in tickets from $100 thousand to $1 million.
The round was led by XAnge, with Illuminate Financial, XTX Ventures, Athletico Ventures, Gaingels, Mana Ventures, Motier Ventures, and Soma Capital also participating.
The startup plans to use the raised investments to develop a full-fledged audio infrastructure for call centres and AI assistants. In the future, the company plans to invest in the development of its own R&D, expand the product range, and enter new markets.
Most speech recognition models today are trained primarily on English-language audio data. Gladia has created a multilingual real-time audio transcription tool that supports more than 100 languages, as well as improved accent support.
