Acquisition details
Menzies Distribution was acquired by InPost. Its new complete owner is a Polish public logistics limited company with courier, package delivery, and express mail service that is based in Kraków, Poland.
-
Before the transaction, Menzies Distribution consisted of three segments: Express, Newstrade, and MDS. The transaction concerns only two segments of the company: Express and Newstrade.
-
The third segment, MDS, responsible mainly for full-load transport and warehouses, was separated from Menzies and remains under the control of Endless LLP – it will continue to be managed by the current team. InPost still retains a 30% share in it.
-
The full integration of Menzies Distribution is expected by the company to strengthen InPost’s position in the market, but also improve the quality of logistics services offered to retailers and consumers.
The decision to fully acquire Menzies Distribution Limited allows the company to increase the scale of its operations, including the expansion of the Paczkomat network in the UK. According to InPost, revenues on the British market can be increased more than threefold – from $35 million (PLN 140 million) in the first half of 2023 to over $103 million (PLN 412 million) in the same period in 2024.
