The day - or rather the month - has arrived. Ubisoft releases Assassin's Creed Shadows, Krafton launches inZOI, and Hazelight Studios, developer of It Takes Two, brings us Split Fiction. There's really nothing else to add. March is shaping up to be an exciting month for the gaming industry, even after an amazing February.
Let's take a look at the games coming to PC and consoles in March 2025.
Split Fiction
March 6 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
We've been waiting for this game since it was announced at The Game Awards 2024. After the massive success of It Takes Two, Hazelight Studios is finally back with something new - Split Fiction. This co-op multiplayer split-screen game follows the story of Mio and Zoe, two writers who work at a company that creates stories and simulations. They accidentally find themselves trapped in one of these simulations and realize that their only goal is to find their way back to reality by traveling through their own worlds. The twist? Mio writes sci-fi, while Zoe writes fantasy.
As always, Hazelight Studios refuses to limit the gameplay to just one or two mechanics. Each level introduces new tools and possibilities. True to form, the developers have also infused Split Fiction with complex human relationships. If It Takes Two was about rebuilding a marriage, this game teaches us how to trust those around us.
Dragonkin: The Banished
Early Access – March 6 (PC)
French studio Eko Software is launching its action RPG Dragonkin: The Banished on Steam in Early Access on March 6th. The game takes place in a world suddenly overrun by terrifying dragons and bloodshed. You play as one of four heroes who embark on a hunt to eliminate the dragons and their masters. The game features a class system that lets you choose between a barbarian, an oracle, or a knight. Aside from battles, you'll also have the opportunity to develop your in-game town as you progress through the story.
Sugardew Island: Your Cosy Farm Shop
March 7 (PS5, PS4, Switch, PC)
When it's time to relax and unwind, cozy games are the answer. On March 7, German indie studio Rokaplay will release Sugardew Island: Your Cozy Farm Shop. As the name suggests, this is a wholesome, colorful game perfect for unwinding after work. Take care of your own farm and animals, expand your island and shop, sell your produce to the local forest creatures, and occasionally embark on small quests given by the Tree of Harmony.
Wanderstop
March 11 (PS5, PC)
More cozy games on the way. American indie studio Ivy Road is preparing to release Wanderstop, a narrative-driven game, on March 11. Wanderstop follows the story of Alta, a former warrior who, after suffering numerous losses and injuries, chooses to live a quiet life helping a tea shop owner named Boro. Gameplay revolves around brewing tea, planting seeds, and managing the shop. Only tea can heal Alta's body and soul.
WWE 2K25
March 14 (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC)
The WWE franchise is back with the latest installment featuring today's top stars and Hall of Fame legends. WWE 2K25 features a roster of over 300 wrestlers, including Seth "Freakin" Rollins, The Undertaker, The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Jade Cargill and more.
The game features intergender matches for the first time, along with new mechanics such as chain wrestling, underground matches, bloodline rules, and even barricade jumps.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
March 20 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
We almost lost all hope, but here it is. Ubisoft is finally releasing Assassin's Creed Shadows, after delaying its release from February to March 20. The game, which was originally announced for 2022, has received a lot of criticism - some accused the developers of relying too much on reshading instead of innovation, while others debated the inclusion of a black protagonist in a game set in feudal Japan. Despite the backlash, many are eagerly awaiting the game's release, and we're eager to see the first reviews.
So what's Assassin's Creed Shadows all about? The game is set in late 16th century feudal Japan during the Azuchi-Momoyama period and immerses players in the ongoing conflict between the Assassins and the Templars. The story begins in 1579 and covers historical events such as Oda Nobunaga's invasion of Iga Province in 1581.
For the first time in the franchise, players will be able to switch between two protagonists:
- Fujibayashi Naoe, a female shinobi specializing in stealth and quick attacks
- Yasuke, an African-born samurai who relies on brute force
Atomfall
March 27 (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC)
Atomfall, a new survival action game from UK developer Rebellion Developments, is set to launch on March 27. Inspired by Fallout: New Vegas, Metro and BioShock series, the game is known for its brutal difficulty - one wrong move and you're dead.
The story takes place in an alternate 1960s where a nuclear disaster at the Windscale plant has turned much of northern England into a radioactive exclusion zone. Suffering from amnesia, the protagonist explores the quarantined Lake District five years after the disaster, trying to piece together what happened. Along the way, you'll encounter mutated creatures, cult members, soldiers, and robots developed by Britain's Atomic Research Bureau.
inZOI
March 28 (PC)
You might want to take a break from The Sims—if you’re playing on Windows, that is. Instead, check out inZOI, the new life sim from South Korean studio Krafton (PUBG: Battlegrounds).
inZOI lets players dive into a virtual world, where they can create and manage characters, known as Zois. The game offers extensive customization options, from appearance and outfits to home building and decorating. Players can choose career paths, develop skills, build relationships, and start families. The world consists of multiple open-world locations, inspired by real cities like Seoul, Los Angeles, and Indonesian resorts.
Although comparisons to The Sims are inevitable, inZOI’s developers emphasize that, while they deeply respect the franchise, they aim to offer a fresh experience with greater freedom and deeper interactions.
