American aerospace company Maxar Technologies has restored Ukraine's access to its satellite images, Militarnyi reports.
In particular, the company restored the accounts of Ukrainian users in the GEGD (Global Enhanced GEOINT Delivery) program, which provides access to commercial satellite imagery collected by the US government.
These images are widely used by the global media and OSINT communities to monitor the situation on the front lines and to illustrate the results of strikes on strategic targets in russia.
Previously, Maxar Technologies had stopped providing Ukraine with access to its satellite imagery after the United States suspended military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
However, on March 11, after a meeting between Ukrainian and US delegations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the US lifted the pause in intelligence sharing and resumed security assistance to Ukraine.
The ban was lifted after Ukraine agreed to the US proposal to immediately implement a temporary 30-day ceasefire, which "may be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, subject to acceptance and simultaneous implementation" by the russian federation. The statement added that the United States will convey to russia that reciprocity from russia is key to achieving peace.
