Elon Musk's brain implant company Neuralink is now looking for people around the world to research a device that will allow you to control computers with your mind, Neuralink announced on X.

Neuralink is looking for people with quadriplegia, a condition in which mobility and sensitivity in all four limbs (arms and legs) are completely or partially lost.

"If you have limited or no ability to use both hands due to cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) you may qualify," Neuralink's website states.

What does Neuralink study?

The company is researching an implant that is placed in the part of the brain responsible for planning movement. It interprets a person's neural activity, allowing them to control a computer or smartphone using only the intention to move - without wires or physical effort.

"This research may help us find safer, more effective ways to implant and use our BCI to potentially restore and enhance computer control and other capabilities."

Neuralink has already implanted the device in three patients. The first was Noland Arbeau, who was able to play chess and other games with his mind after the surgery. It was previously reported that Neuralink plans to perform about 20-30 such surgeries in 2025.
